EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 23-year-old man was recently arrested after he committed several crimes last Friday, March 8, including stealing from the San Elizario Church, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says they responded to the 1500 block of San Elizario Road that Friday after Geovanni, Moreno, 23, “broke into a vehicle and tried to ignite the gas tank on fire, broke into and stole from a section of the San Elizario Church, attempted to break into a museum next to the plaza, and successfully broke into an art gallery/museum and destroyed multiple displays.”

Detectives were able to identify Moreno from previous interactions and obtained two warrants for burglary of business with a total bond of $10,000.

On Tuesday, March 12, deputies located Moreno walking on the 500 block of Borrego Road in San Elizario and placed him into custody.

Moreno was then booked into the El Paso County Jail under a $10,000 bond pending additional charges.
