Posted on August 29, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 40-year-old man was arrested after allegedly stealing more than $9,000 worth of jewelry last Thursday, Aug. 22, at Cielo Vista Mall, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says at around 6 p.m. that Thursday, deputies working at Cielo Vista Mall were notified by employees of a local jewelry store that they had seen a man who had previously stolen from another store.

The Sheriff’s Office says Adan Gutierrez, 40, was seen stealing more than $9,000 worth of jewelry earlier that Thursday.

Deputies then initiated an active search for Gutierrez and were able to locate him after he attempted to leave the area.

Gutierrez was wearing the same clothes he was wearing earlier that day when he was seen stealing the jewelry, and he was also in possession of stolen jewelry, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Gutierrez was turned over to El Paso Police Detectives.
