EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 20-year-old parolee was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 3, after physically assaulting a person, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO).
Carlos Salinas III, 20, who is currently on parole for a previous murder conviction, was charged with assault causing bodily injury under a $20,000 bond. He was then booked into the El Paso County Downtown Detention Facility, according to EPCSO.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 3, deputies responded to the 100 block of Nonap Drive about an assault in progress.
EPCSO said that upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim, who reported being physically assaulted by Salinas.
A short time later, deputies located Salinas at the 12700 block of Pellicano Drive and took him into custody without incident, according to EPCSO.
EPCSO said that due to a parole violation, Salinas remains in custody under a parole detainer.
