EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man who took the lives of two young women and left a man critically injured outside El Paso police headquarters was identified as a 28-year-old El Pasoan.
Uriel Ontiveros was identified by El Paso police as the offender who allegedly killed 21-year-old Mia Molina and 27-year-old Victoria Whitman on Wednesday, September 24.
Ontiveros is also accused of shooting a 59-year-old man who remains hospitalized in critical condition.
According to police, police officer inside the police station heard multiple gunshots at 1:23 p.m. and “immediately responded.” Police found, Molina, Whitman, Ontiveros and the older man with gunshot wounds outside in the area of 1000 Raynor Street.
Ontiveros is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he shot Molina, Whitman and the 59-year-old man.
Police said all four were taken to the hospital for treatment for gunshot wounds after first aid was administered at the scene.
Crimes Against Persons investigators are continuing their investigation and ask for the public’s help in gathering information that can be used for this case.
Molina was known as a model and Whitman was described as “the sweetest young lady” by Marco Ruiz who claims is her uncle.
The shooting closed off streets in the area for hours as police gathered evidence.
