EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — In Her Element Foundation will be hosting its annual “¡Si Se Puede!” event in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The Latina-owned and local non-profit’s event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the EPCC Board Room, located at 9050 Viscount.

¡Si Se Puede! is a fund-raising event to support In Her Element Foundation’s mission to serve underrepresented and underserved communities, according to the news release by the foundation.

Featured speaker for the event is Elsie Som, co-founder and chief sustainability officer of Mijenta Tequila, according to the foundation. Organizers said Mijenta Tequila is a “pioneering force in the spirits industry” and has been recognized for its “commitment to sustainability, transparency and in empowerment of women in leadership.”

The event will also feature workshops, food and a folklorico performance.

This year’s theme for ¡Si Se Puede! is “Latinas Shaping the Future” to highlight the achievements of women who have made significant contributions to their communities, according to In Her Element Foundation.

In Her Element is a network of peers, mentors, coaches and a sisterhood of women dedicated to “uplifting Latina and BIPOC girls and women in the community” through mentoring and professional development to take leadership roles, according to the foundation.
