EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Socorro Independent School District (SISD) high schools are preparing faculty and staff for the new school year with conferences.
Socorro High School and Americas High School feeder areas will participate in day-long events on Tuesday, July 30 for staff members to collaborate on processes, instructions strategies, hear from guest speakers and learn on ways to refine their craft, according to SISD in a news release.
For Americas High School, the following feeder schools will be in the conference:
Vista Del Sol Environmental Science Academy
Myrtle Cooper Elementary
Loma Verde Elementary
Sierra Vista STEAM Academy
John Drugan School
Capt. Walter E. Clarke Middle School
Americas High School.
Guest speaker is Maya Cosette Ruiz, an Americas High School senior who is in STEM robotics, competed in district and international science fairs and has earned her associate’s degree from El Paso Community College while attending Americas, according to SISD.
For Socorro High School, the following feeder schools will be in the conference:
Campestre Elementary
Escontrias STEAM Academy
H.D. Hillery Elementary
Robert R. Rojas Elementary
Ernesto Serna Fine Arts Academy
Salvador H. Sanchez Middle School
Socorro Middle School
Socorro High School
The feature guest speaker in Bob Sanju, an award-winning education leader that will include learning sessions for leadership, early/elementary, middle school and high school education, according to SISD.
