TONIGHT: If you are having trouble breathing today, a shift in the winds this morning ushered in a smoky haze from the fires in the Panhandle. Visibility is down to 4 miles in some parts of the county, but relief is on the way. The skies will be overcast with scattered rain showers, which will help clear away some of the smoke. A low-pressure system has settled in over the Borderland, and that will cause periodic showers with moderate rainfall likely through the evening into the early morning hours of Thursday. The east-SE winds will range from 10-20 mph, and the low will drop to 40.
FORECAST: Thursday will start out with clouds and lingering early morning rain showers. The rain should taper off by 4 AM, and the clouds should start to clear by noon. The winds will shift west at 10-20 mph, pushing the smoky haze back to the east, and the high will be 65. Friday will be sunny and beautiful with a high of 74. Saturday will be partly cloudy and moderately windy with a high of 79. Sunday will bring gusty winds and a dusty haze with a high of 80. Peak gusts will approach 50 mph. Monday will be partly cloudy and cooler with a high of 70. Tuesday will be partly cloudy and 72 with warm winds.
