EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Socorro Independent School District, along with the El Paso Museum of Art, will host its 7th annual Socorro ISD Student Art Exhibition this weekend.
The art exhibition will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the museum.
Socorro ISD said the exhibition will showcase the artwork created by talented students from the district’s comprehensive high schools.
The exhibition will feature works from 68 students from Americas, Eastlake, El Dorado, Montwood, Pebble Hills and Socorro high schools.
The students include: Eliana Moreno, Grecia Estrada, Alexa Alvidrez, Anthony Justin Kidd, Ximena Sofia Parra Salgado, Jiselle Andre Montes, Mia Salcido, Kayla Ponce, Camila Getzemani Davila, Aryannah Marie Huerta, Sarah Lara, Andrew Munoz, Pablo Corral, Desmond Kornegay, Lindsey Huffman, Valerie Salcido, Michelle Prast, Sofia Cedillo, Jasmine Jerry, Michael Hernandez, Maritza Castro-Perales, Renata Lerma Marquez, Santiago Pinon, Alana Escajeda, Luz Montoya, Jericho Henson, Katherine Filerio, Nia Espinoza, Dominic Lopez, Brisa Valdez, Zoe Martinez, Ava Childress, Scarlett Mendoza, Victoria Mora, Daniela Chacon, Sophia Galindo, June Ruiz, Josefine Bustillos, Kayla Phillips, Jordan Venzor, Uriel H’Luz, Andrea Covarrubias, Abigail Cervantes, Jada Williams, Samantha Badillo, Gabriela Perez, Allison Rodriguez, Sara Ochoa, Ellie Hernandez, Nyssa Padilla, Brooklyn Rodriguez, Kiara Garay, Jacqueline Vargas, Nirel Salais, Lizbeth Gutierrez Silva, Allison Franco, Aliyah Daley, Anaya Chavez, Jacqueline Heard, Tomas Lara, Vianca Marin, Aleena Gomez, Madelynn Lopez, Izabella Figueroa, Adali Valles, Marlene Martinez, Eileen Razo, and Aileen Pichardo.
Students created original artwork inspired by the El Paso Museum of Art’s collection for this showcase. They received mentoring from museum staff on collection care and career pathways in the arts, Socorro ISD said.
