EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Socorro Independent School District’s (SISD) Board of Trustees has unanimously voted to approve Interim Superintendent James Vasquez’s contract on Wednesday night, Aug. 20.
As KTSM previously reported, SISD named Vasquez as interim superintendent back in April 2024 and the lone finalist for superintendent in June 2025.
The Board of Trustees was in a closed executive session for nearly two hours to discuss the terms and conditions of Vasquez’s contract as superintendent and other items.
