The district says families will read “Graciela’s Dream,” a dual language book for middle and high school students about one family’s journey to college.
The event will also feature guest speaker Corinne Chacón, an activist, designer, writer and creator of Field of Stars/Campo de Estrellas, a collection of historical and commemorative flags honoring champions of fairness and service to the community. The flags are currently on display in Socorro Middle School, according to the district.
Participants will also receive information on college and career readiness. Additional Latino Literacy Nights will take place on March 22 and April 5, at the school.
