EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Socorro Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault incident that sent a man to the hospital in critical condition on Monday evening, Sept. 23, the department said.
The Socorro Police said officers responded to a call at 11:39 p.m. on Sept. 23 near the 10100 block of Calcutta Dr. and found a man in his 20s unresponsive at the scene.
The man was immediately taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition, according to Socorro Police.
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) was notified and responded to the scene to assist with the investigation, according to the Socorro Police.
The Socorro Police said requests for specialized crime scene assistance were made to the Horizon City Police Department Crime Scene Unit.
