EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — St. Luke’s Country Fair and Great Dachshund Stampede returns for another year of family fun this weekend.
The annual event, which has been around for 40-plus years, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7050 McNutt Road in La Union, New Mexico.

The Country Fair features what it calls the “world’s best smoked brisket,” homemade goodies, dozens of vendors with a variety of arts, crafts and other merchandise, souvenir T-shirts and of course, the Great Dachshund Stampede and doggie costume contest.
Admission is a can of dog, cat or human food for the local food bank.
This year continues the tradition of special races for all dogs. The Animal League of El Paso and the Second Sunrise Rescue will receive a portion of the event proceeds. Second Sunrise Rescue will hold pet adoptions during the fair.
Father Daniel Cave will have pet blessings at 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. He will also preside over the Holy Goat Church Service after the event at 4 p.m.
