EL PASO, Texas (KTSM)—This Saturday, September 14, the El Paso Chamber of Commerce announced that the Star on the Mountain will be lit red, white, and green in honor of Mexican Independence Day.
The Chamber said the lighting of the Star in red, white, and green will stand as a beacon of unity, reflecting the deep bonds between El Paso and its neighboring country.
The El Paso chamber said that the event, in collaboration with the Mexican Consulate in El Paso, symbolizes the strong cultural ties and shared history between El Paso and Mexico. It seeks to celebrate the rich traditions that continue to connect our countries across the border.
The official El Grito celebration, “Vivamos México,” will occur at the Convention Center Plaza from 5:00 PM to midnight. There will be food, music, and a festive celebration of Mexican pride.
