EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Seven suspects were arrested in the violent weekend robbery of a jewelry store in Ciudad Juárez, just a few hours after the crime was committed, according to the State of Chihuahua’s Department of Public Safety.
The robbery happened Saturday afternoon, Aug. 31 inside the Plaza Juárez Mall.

State police said an armed group broke into a jewelry store, used guns to shoot at the display cases and then they stole jewelry, according to a news release.
The suspects fled the scene in a minivan without license plates. A few hours later, the suspects were arrested in the streets of the Salvárcar neighborhood, according to the news release.
Along with the arrests, two guns were seized as well as nearly 150 pieces of jewelry allegedly stolen in the heist, the news release said.
The arrests highlight the effectiveness of pairing security forces with surveillance technology, the news release said.
