EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso has been named the most bilingual city in the United States, according to a new study by Preply.
The study analyzed U.S. Census Bureau data from the country’s 25 largest cities to see where bilingualism is most common — defined as residents who speak a language other than English at home and report speaking English “very well.”
The study found that nearly 7 in 10 residents in El Paso speak a language other than English, and 39 percent of its population is bilingual.
Additionally, Spanish is the second most widely spoken language in the Borderland, spoken by 67 percent of residents.
