EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — If you love the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl and everything about it, you might want to mark your calendar.
The 2024 Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta, presented by El Paso Live, will be from 4 to 10 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 30 at the El Paso Convention Center and Convention Center Plaza.
This annual celebration brings together the local community and fans of both participating teams — the Louisville Cardinals and Washington Huskies — ahead of their matchup at noon on Dec. 31 at the Sun Bowl stadium.
Here is this year’s schedule of events:
4 p.m. Mariachi and Folklórico Performances
Kick off the festivities in the Mount Franklin Lobby of the El Paso Convention Center with
performances by mariachi ensembles and folklórico dancers.
4:45 p.m. Welcome Address by Bernie Olivas
Bernie Olivas, president of the Sun Bowl Association, will deliver a special welcome address to fans and attendees.
5:30 p.m. Parade and Battle of the Bands
A parade will wind through Downtown El Paso, culminating in a Battle of the Bands performance, featuring the marching bands of the Louisville Cardinals and Washington Huskies.
7:15 p.m. to 10 p.m. Special Musical Performances
Guests will enjoy music by the 80s-inspired band, The Spazmatics, in Hall A of the Convention Center, with an encore performance at 8:45 p.m.
8 p.m. to 11 p.m. DJ Johnny Kage will entertain guests with a live set at the Convention Center Plaza from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
