EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta will return to the El Paso Convention Center from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28.
The Fan Fiesta is a “free, family-friendly event celebrating the 90th annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl football game between Oregon State and Notre Dame on Dec. 29,” according to a news release that was sent out announcing the event.
Recognized as El Paso’s biggest pep rally, Fan Fiesta will feature the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Parade led by the marching bands of Oregon State and Notre Dame. In addition, live entertainment, food vendors, and local shops and businesses will welcome guests of all ages to the El Paso Convention Center.
“Fan Fiesta is one of El Paso’s longest-held traditions. It’s a privilege to host such a special event for the community and our visitors, while showcasing El Paso’s welcoming spirit as we cheer on the visiting teams and their loyal fans,” said Jose Garcia, president and CEO of Destination El Paso.
Last year, the Fan Fiesta was canceled because the Convention Center was being used as a migrant shelter, but some activities like the Battle of the Bands were moved to Fort Bliss.
