EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Sunland Park Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents, including one that left a person dead.
At about 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, Sunland Park Police repsonded to the 100 block of Palma Drive regarding a gunshot victim.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim with gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were done by Sunland Park Police and Fire personnel. The victim, however, died from his injuries.
A suspect is in custody and the incident remains under investigation.
The second incident happened at about 3 a.m. on Oct 13. An area hospital notified law enforcement about a patient with gunshot wounds, connected to a possible incident in Sunland Park.
Officers responded to a home in the 5000 bock of Ashwood Drive and they found an active crime scene.
A female victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds in this incident and is in critical condition, Sunland Park Police said.
Like the first incident, a suspect has been taken into custody.
Police said both appear to be isolated incidents and there is no threat to the community.
