Police say shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, they were dispatched to Top Crop located on 2240 E. Lohman Ave. in Las Cruces and found Steven Alarcon, 23, dead in the parking lot.
LCPD detectives later discovered that Altamirano and another man were inside a GMC Sierra that Saturday in the parking lot.
Police say the pickup truck was driven by Jesus Adam Herrera, 36, and Altamirano was in the passenger seat.
Police say Alarcon was standing near the driver’s side window of the pick up truck when he got into a verbal argument with Herrera.
Police say as the argument escalated, Altamirano discharged several rounds from the inside of the pickup truck.
