EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 14-year-old boy was recently charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly broke residential windows and stole packages last Thursday, Jan. 30 in far East El Paso, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to two separate incidents of criminal mischief that Thursday at the 12700 block of Monmouth Ave. In both cases, a 14-year-old boy who was identified by surveillance footage was seen throwing rocks at residential windows.

Later that same day, videos were posted to a popular social media account on Instagram, showing the same 14-year-old boy who was seen stealing packages in the area where the window damage was reported, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The 14-year-old boy was later identified and was charged with criminal mischief in two categories. He was charged with damage of $2,500 to $30,000 and damage between $100 and $750, in connection to the broken windows.

The 14-year-old boy was taken into custody by deputies and detectives from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and referred to the El Paso County Juvenile Probation Department.
