EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two teens were arrested and charged with illegal dumping on Wednesday, March 19 in far East El Paso, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was patrolling and conducting surveillance in an unmarked vehicle near the desert area adjacent to the 14900 block of Tierra Mirage and saw a truck approaching the area.
That’s when Hector Munoz, 17, and Michael Ortiz, 18, were seen exiting the truck and began illegally dumping bags of trash in the area, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Both teens were taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on charges of illegal dumping. The truck they were traveling in was also impounded.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says it “remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting our community and environment. Illegal dumping is a serious offense, and we will continue to hold individuals accountable, ensuring that those who engage in such unlawful activities face the full extent of the law.”
