EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A Texas couple has died after they were recently found unconscious inside an Airbnb while on a vacation in Mexico City, according to the Daily Mail.
Mexican police say Laura Morales, 37, and Hugo Iván Morales, 35, were found on Tuesday, Feb. 25, after they responded to reports of an unconscious person at the Airbnb.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found that one of the burners of the gas stove was slightly turned on, which might have led to a gas leak and carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the Daily Mail.
In a GoFundMe started by the couple’s family in El Paso, they say that the couple died of carbon monoxide poisoning. However, their cause of death has not been confirmed by officials.

The Mexican Attorney General’s Office is currently investigating the deaths.
