EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — It’s that time of year once again that so many people dread.
When you go to bed Saturday night, Nov. 2, remember to turn your clock back an hour.
Daylight saving time officially ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday and we go back to standard time.
The original intent of the time change during winter hours is to make it lighter when children are heading to school in the morning.
Fire departments across the country also remind people that the time change is a great time to remember to check your batteries in your smoke detectors or even change the batteries out.
“It’s time to fall back one hour on our clocks and time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. Make sure to test your smoke alarms monthly and immediately replace the batteries if they start chirping,” Sunland Park Fire said via its X account.
