EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Fort Bliss and the 1st Armored Division are poised to welcome home 3,000 soldiers who have been deployed for the past nine months in Europe.
The 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division is redeploying back to Fort Bliss after being deployed in Poland, Germany and Bulgaria since July 2023.
Flights are expected to arrive at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6 with a ceremony scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
The 2nd Brigade was deployed in Europe to support Operation Assure, Deter and Reinforce. They deployed along with 3,000 pieces of equipment including M1 Abrams Tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles.
The Fort Bliss and El Paso community will be welcoming the brigade home and celebrating the completion of their mission.
