Posted on August 10, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Hello, Sun City! We are off to a hot and dry start this weekend with a slight chance of storms early on in the coming week. Additionally, we have plenty of double digits in our forecast.

Disclaimer: Weather models change constantly and so do our forecasts! It’s important to know KTSM works diligently to provided you with the latest information when it comes to weather.

Without further ado, let’s get started with what we can expect in the coming days.

Sunday, brings us another day of hot and dry conditions.

This time, we may see breezy conditions ranging from 10 to 15 mph. Our expected high warms up to 101 degrees with an overnight low sitting at 78 degrees. Breezy conditions will also make their way into Sunday evening.

For Monday, 102 is the forecasted high.

The day will consist of winds ranging from 5 to 10 mph paired with dry conditions for the day. No significant changes are expected for Monday. I would highly encourage you to take precautions when it comes to these hotter days.

Making sure you’re staying hydrated, wearing sunscreen and taking those breaks if you’re outdoors most of the day are big steps when it comes to taking care of your well-being.

Tuesday begins dry with some clouds making way into the Borderland. Our high is forecasted to reach 99 degrees.

We do have a 10% chance of seeing storms Tuesday afternoon with the possibility of those storms moving into the night. Seventy-four degrees is our forecasted overnight low, making it the coolest evening temperature in our forecast.

Ninety-eight degrees is our forecasted high for Wednesday. At this time, we are predicting 20% chance of evening storms before midnight. Of course, storm chances are subject to change. Wednesday night’s temperature is expected to cool off to 75 degrees.

Enjoy those double digits because we are getting closer to triple digits once again!

Thursday’s weather conditions will include partly cloudy skies through the day paired with warm breezes. The day’s forecasted high is predicted to warm up to 99 degrees with an overnight low of 76 degrees. A nice warm evening to finish off the day.

Mostly sunny skies and a high of 98 degrees is the recipe for Friday.

As we continue this pattern of dry conditions, use it to your advantage. Summer is almost over, go for that swim or outdoor picnic while you can!

Sunny and Hot! That’s exactly what next Saturday’s weather conditions call for. We kick off the day already warm and we expect our high to sit at 100 degrees. If you are looking for a place to cool off we have a list of cooling centers in the article linked below.
