EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Here is a rundown of road closures for Texas Department of Transportation projects in the El Paso area for the week starting Saturday, Jan. 11.
This includes advance notice for a major 49-hour closure next weekend and a 12-hour closure on Jan. 25.
I-10 Widening West
Monday, Jan. 13, through Saturday, Jan. 18
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- I-10 East and West will be alternatingly reduced to one lane between Vinton Road and Transmountain Road.
Crews will be working on retaining walls.
Monday, Jan. 13, through Saturday, Jan. 18
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- I-10 East and West will be alternatingly reduced to one lane between Mesa Street and Redd Road.
Crews will be hauling dirt.
Monday, Jan. 13, and Tuesday, Jan. 14
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- North Desert Boulevard will be reduced to one lane between Northern Pass Avenue and Trade Center Avenue.
Crews will be installing metal beam guard fence.
Wednesday, Jan. 15, and Thursday, Jan. 16
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- I-10 East will be closed at Los Mochis Drive.
DETOUR: Continue on South Desert Boulevard, re-enter I-10 past Transmountain Road.
- South Desert Boulevard will be reduced to one lane between Los Mochis Drive and Transmountain Road.
Crews will be adjusting metal beam guard fence.
49-HOUR CLOSURE
Saturday, Jan. 18 at 4 a.m. through Monday, Jan. 20 at 5 a.m.
- I-10 East will be closed at Redd Road.
DETOUR: Take Exit 9 (Redd Road), continue on South Desert Boulevard, and re-enter I-10 past Mesa Street.
- Redd Road will be closed between North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard.
Crews will be installing the bridge deck.
Monday, Jan. 20, through Thursday, Jan. 23
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- The on-ramp from South Desert Boulevard to I-10 East at Artcraft will be closed.
DETOUR: Continue on South Desert, re-enter I-10 East past Mesa Street.

ADVANCE NOTICE: 12-HOUR CLOSURE
Saturday, Jan. 25
4 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- I-10 West will be closed at Mesa Street.
DETOUR: Take Exit 11 (SH 20/Mesa Street/Thorn Avenue), continue on North Desert Boulevard, re-enter I-10 West past Redd Road.
- I-10 East will be closed at Redd Road.
DETOUR: Take Exit 9 (Redd Road), continue on South Desert Boulevard, re-enter I-10 past Mesa Street.

- The offramp from I-10 West at Transmountain Road will be closed.
- DETOUR: Take Exit 8 (Artcraft Road) and continue on North Desert to Transmountain Road.
