EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) opened its first-ever urgent care clinic on Tuesday, May 27.
The UMC Urgent Care-Eastlake is located at 12261-C Eastlake Blvd.
UMC said the clinic marks a “significant milestone in expanding acessible health care services to the rapidly growing communities of East El Paso, Horizon, Fabens, and Ysleta.”
It will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
“The opening of this urgent care is an example of how the Hospital District listens to the health care needs of the community and works to be able to deliver on those needs,” Jacob Cintron, president and CEO of the El Paso County Hospital District, said. “For a long time, families have had to drive long distances, wait hours in an emergency room, or delay care altogether. We hope to help alleviate some of those burdens and concerns with this urgent care.”
This urgent care clinic offers a wide range of walk-in services, including:
- Evaluation and treatment of colds, flu and respiratory infections
- Care for minor injuries, such as sprains, strains, cuts, and fractures
- Vaccinations
- On-site X-rays
UMC’s Urgent Care-Eastlake features 10 private treatment rooms and can quickly increase staffing to handle any influx of patients to provide immediate, close-to-home, affordable access to non-emergency care for all ages, UMC said in a news release.
