UPDATE: As of 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, around 1,800 customers are still experiencing a power outage in West El Paso, according to El Paso Electric.
The utility says the cause of the outage is being investigated and crews are currently working to restore power to those affected.
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Close to 7,000 customers are experiencing a power outage in West El Paso, according to the El Paso Electric outage map.
The map shows two outages that are currently ongoing with roughly 7,000 people without power near Artcraft.

The outage was reported just after 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, with the estimated restoration time being close to 5 p.m.
Viewers are also sharing that Tippin Elementary is being affected.
