Posted on September 25, 2023

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A bicyclist was hit by two cars and killed early Monday morning, Sept. 25, in Horizon City in a fatal hit-and-run, the Horizon City Police Department reported.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. along the 13780 block of Horizon Boulevard.

Police say a 44-year-old man was riding a bicycle on the roadway when he was hit by a car and then run over by a second vehicle.

Neither vehicle stopped to render aide to the victim or report the crash, police say.

The bicyclist, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are asking the public for help in identifying the vehicles and drivers involved in this incident.

Police say the vehicles are a 2015 to 2018 Volkswagen Jetta and 2007 to 2012 Toyota Yaris. They say both vehicles will have front-end damage.

If you have any information, you are urged to call the Horizon City Police Department at (915) 852-1047.
