UPDATE: The man has been found dead, his family told KTSM.
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man is still missing after two children safely made it to shore on Sunday from the Rio Grande at La Llorona Park in Las Cruces, according to Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office (DASO).
According to DASO, they responded to reports of two children and a man on a possible watercraft in the river at roughly 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 16 at 3440 W. Picacho Ave.
The children safely made it to shore but the man is still missing, DASO said.
DASO, New Mexico State Police and the Mesilla Valley Search and Rescue team are currently on scene.
New Mexico State Police is the lead investigator in the incident.
