Posted on October 21, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The University of Texas at El Paso raised more than $41 million in donations during UTEP’s fiscal year for 2025, the university said.

More than 6,400 donors gave $41,558,827 to support the university, UTEP said.

It as the fourth year in a row that giving to UTEP topped the $40 million mark.

“We are deeply grateful to the thousands of friends of UTEP who support our students and our mission,” UTEP President Heather Wilson said. “Our donors help us change lives and advance knowledge. We couldn’t do nearly as much without them.”

Scholarships, mining engineering, science, athletics and computer science were UTEP programs that received some of the largest gifts in FY25. In total, donors made 17,162 unique gifts to 514 supported programs and projects. More than 1,900 individuals were first-time donors to UTEP last year, the university said.

“I am proud of the work that UTEP’s advancement team did this year, helping to connect giving opportunities to our generous donors,” said Gary Edens, Ed.D., interim vice president of institutional advancement. “From small ones to large ones, every gift makes a difference.”

Gifts under $25,000 made up $5.2 million of the FY25 total. Major gifts, or gifts above $25,000 and less than $1 million, totaled $13.6 million. Principle gifts, or gifts over $1 million, totaled $22.8 million.
