EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Multiple businesses were vandalized along North Mesa in West El Paso early Friday morning, Nov. 7.
Viral video, from popular online site FitFam, showed a man throwing an object, possibly a large rock, at the front doors of CBC Fine Jewelers. The man threw something at the doors at least three times. At least once, some material from the building fell to the ground, indicating that the man did some damage.
The man in the video appears to be tall and lanky and was wearing what appeared to be a ski cap.
Other businesses that were reportedly vandalized included First Cash Pawn and Uptown Cheapstakes.
Our crew captured images of a damaged front door at Uptown Cheapstake, as workers were putting up boards to temporarily repair damaged glass doors.
CBC Fine Jewelers sent KTSM the following statement: “Our storefront was vandalized early this morning. Thankfully, everyone is safe. We’re making repairs and will reopen this afternoon. We’re truly grateful to our community for the kindness and support.”
Another video, courtesy from FitFam, showed police arriving to initiate an investigation.
El Paso Police confirmed to KTSM that they responded to a vandalism call around 6:15 a.m. Friday but provided no other details.
Anyone who has information about this incident can call El Paso Police at their non-emergency number at (915) 832-4400.
