EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Village of Vinton City Council appointed a new municipal court judge during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 6, the Village of Vinton announced in a press release.
The Village of Vinton says Sergio M. Estrada was selected as the new municipal court judge and is an El Paso native.
Estrada is an El Paso High School graduate and partner at Kemp Smith. Before joining the law firm, Estrada was an Assistant City Attorney in El Paso for over six years and represented the city in numerous civil lawsuits, according to the Village of Vinton.
In addition to serving as the Village of Vinton’s judge, Estrada will also continue in private practice, focusing on commercial litigation including both trials and appeals.
“I am pleased and honored to have been selected by the Village of Vinton Council to serve as the next Municipal Judge,” said Estrada. “I promise to work hand in hand with the Village Council and staff to resume the operations of the Municipal Court as soon as practicable, and, above all else, I promise to ensure that parties who appear before the Municipal Court will be treated in a fair and just manner.”
