KTSM News – Wanted sex offender found in tree trying to flee from deputies

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 52-year-old wanted subject was arrested after he failed to run from deputies when trying to hide in a tree on Tuesday, Aug. 20, in Clint, Texas, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSCO).

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Torreon St. regarding information on a wanted subject on Aug. 20, according to EPSCO.

Jorge Sosa, 52, a registered sex offender, was found by deputies and fled on foot, according to EPSCO.

According to EPSCO, a search began in the open fields and canal areas for the apprehension of Sosa. He was later found hiding in a tree.

Sosa was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for parole violation/sex offender failure to register with no bond, according to EPSCO.
