EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Repairs to a water main break in Sunland Park’s Hacienda neighborhood remain on “temporary hold” because of the location of the break, the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority said Monday evening, July 28.
In the meantime, water service will be maintained, the utility said.

The break occurred on Friday July 25, and is approximately 12 feet below the road surface, which has made standard repair efforts extremely challenging due to the high groundwater table, CRRUA said.
Following on-site evaluation, it was determined that “dewater” operations are required to complete the repair safely and effectively.
Customers will be notified of a timetable for the repair once the logistics have been completed.
The impacted area is between Boy Scout Lane from Futurity Drive to Frontera Road and San Gabriel Drive from Frontera Road south to Futurity Drive. Adjacent areas also may be affected.
CRRUA also said that the Guy Keating subdivision will see a temporary water service disruption when a waterline is repaired on Tuesday, July 29.

Water service will be disrupted from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday and the impacted area includes Posey Road, Hurd Lane, Low Road and Morrison Street.
