EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Village of Ruidoso has reported several water outages across the area after flash flooding on Wednesday, July 30.
According to the Village of Ruidoso, the National Weather Service issued a flood watch from noon to 9 p.m. on July 30, stating that thunderstorms will be capable of producing rainfall rates up to three inches an hour, which can produce flash flooding and debris flows on the Ruidoso area burn scars.
In the image below, the U.S. National Weather Service in Albuquerque said the USGS camera on Rio Ruidoso at Hollywood showed fast-rising water, overtopping the banks of the river.
Also, water rescues were reported, the U.S. National Weather Service in Albuquerque said.

Additionally, water outages and/or low water pressure have been reported in several areas since 5:30 p.m., the Village of Ruidoso said.
As of 8 p.m., the Village of Ruidoso said crews are working to clear the affected areas and make repairs. As well, residents should stay alert while driving and watch for workers, cones and signage.
The majority of the roads in town have since reopened, except for Fern Trail from Terrace Drive to Grindestone and Main Road at South Street, the Village of Ruidoso said.
These roads will be temporarily closed due to weather events and will typically reopen within 24 hours or less, the Village said.
