If you’ve been wondering, “What is a normal day like for mid February?” It would be today, and I hope you enjoyed it. The high was 64, exactly at normal. The winds were light, and there was no blowing dust. Unfortunately, our Valentine’s Day will NOT be beautiful like this. Hang on to your Valentine because here comes the dust!

TONIGHT: The skies will be partly cloudy, and the winds will be light out of the SE at 5-10 mph. It will be a mild night with a low of 46 at the airport, 41 in the valley.
FORECAST: KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to strong winds and blowing dust on Friday. Our Valentine’s Day will be warm with a high of 73. Unfortunately, the SW winds will pick up by afternoon and gust near 50 mph. A Blowing Dust Advisory is posted until 8 PM. Drive with extreme caution in the afternoon. The strongest gusts will be on the east slopes of the mountains, and the skies will be partly cloudy and hazy. Expect gusty winds much of the night Friday night as a cold front moves in. Saturday will be partly cloudy with gusty winds and a dusty haze. The winds turn cooler with gusts near 45 mph. Saturday’s high: 63. Sunday will be beautiful with some high clouds, light winds, and a high of 70. Sunday’s winds will be light and variable at 5-10 mph. Monday will be partly cloudy and breezy with a high of 75. Tuesday will be partly cloudy and 73. The afternoon winds will become gusty with a dusty haze. Wednesday will bring gusty winds to the west side with a mild cool front. Wednesday’s high: 66. Thursday will be mostly sunny with a few clouds and a high of 72.
