KTSM News – What type of fireworks are legal in Sunland Park?

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Sunland Park Fire Marshal’s Office has released a list of permissible fireworks for this year as Independence Day is next Friday, July 4.

That list is the following:

  • Cone fountains
  • Crackling devices
  • Cylindrical fountains
  • Flitter sparklers
  • Ground spinners
  • Illuminating torches
  • Wheels
  • Aerial shell kit-reloadable tubes not to exceed 3 inches in diameter
  • Aerial spinners
  • Helicopters
  • Mines
  • Multiple tube devices
  • Roman candles
  • Shells
  • Stick-type rockets
    • Stick-type rockets having a tube of less than 5/8 inch outside diameter and less than three and one-half 3 1/2 inches in height are not permissible.
  • Chasers
  • Firecrackers

Fireworks intended for sale to the public that produce an audible effect, other than a whistle, by a charge of more than 130 milligrams of explosive composition per report are also not permissible, the Sunland Park Marshal’s Office said.
