EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — In celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, White Sands National Park invites the community to its last Full Moon Night event of the season.
The event takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17 in the park’s outdoor amphitheater with award-winning musician Randy Granger.
According to the news release by White Sands, Granger is of Mayan and Apache heritage and specializes in Native American flute, storytelling and other acoustic instruments.
Granger performs with numerous percussion instruments, world flutes and stringed instruments.
The event is free but guests will have to pay for the entrance fee, according to White Sands.
Guests are allowed to bring chairs, food and drinks to the event but the park asks that you clean up after yourself.
To get to the amphitheater, drive about six miles beyond the fee station to an intersection just after the Backcountry Camping Trail parking lot, then take a right at the intersection and then the second left. Drive about one mile further and the amphitheater will be on the right.
The parking lot to the amphitheater will open at 5:30 p.m. and will stay open to 9:30 p.m. at the end of the event.
