KTSM News – Will clouds obscure Monday’s supermoon?

Posted on October 6, 2025

My hope tonight is that we are not so cloudy that we cannot see the supermoon. Yes, the supermoon will appear 14% bigger and 30% brighter tonight as it comes closest to the earth in its orbit. It’s maximum is at 11 PM. Ben Gonzalez is a Weather Watcher who captured a previous supermoon.

Here’s your exclusive 9-Hour Forecast for Tuesday with your 9-Day Forecast below.

TONIGHT:   The skies will be partly cloudy early with an increase in clouds overnight.  The variable winds will range from 5-10 mph, and the low will drop to 68.

FORECAST:  Tuesday will usher in a surge of tropical moisture from Hurricane Priscilla, which will move parallel to the Mexican coastline.  You’ll feel a chance in the humidity as dew points climb back to the upper 50s.  This will bring us a chance of scattered showers and t-showers in a hit-or-miss pattern.  Tuesday’s high: 87.  Wednesday will be mostly cloudy and 84 with a slight chance of showers. The elevated humidity will hang around on Wednesday.  Thursday will be partly cloudy and warmer with a high of 88.  Friday will be mostly sunny and 90.  Saturday will be mostly sunny and 92. On Sunday, additional tropical moisture begins to move back in.  With a high of 88, expect a chance of scattered, hit-or-miss showers.  Monday will be partly to mostly cloudy and 84 with a chance of t-showers.
