EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A wind-driven fire destroyed a mobile home Sunday, April 27, near Mesilla and triggered the response of the Las Cruces Fire Department and Doña Ana County Fire Rescue, the Las Cruces Fire Department said in a press release on Monday, April 28.
The Fire Department says they were dispatched just before 4 p.m. on Sunday to a report of a structure fire on the 2800 block of Glass Road near Mesilla within Doña Ana County.

Due to the strong winds and numerous exposures presented by the fire, the Las Cruces Fire Department was called to assist.
The exposures caused by the fire included a large propane tank, live power lines, and at least one nearby home, the Fire Department said.
The strong winds spread the fire to more than 300 yards from where the initial fire started, the Fire Department said.
Crews tackled the fire and had it under control within 30 minutes. Doña Ana County fire units remained on scene for several hours, extinguishing hot spots, according to the Fire Department.
No injuries were reported, and the Doña Ana County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
