It was a pretty nice day today. Did you notice the difference between the dusty haze Monday evening vs. a fairly clear evening tonight? The peak gusts were similar: 39 mph on Monday vs. 35 mph today. So why less of a dusty haze? The upper level winds have diminished in strength, and that’s why we were less dusty today. We’ll be even better tomorrow. TONIGHT: The skies will be clear with a very slight dusty haze early in the evening. The W winds will range from 10-35 mph with the strongest gusts on the east slopes of the mountains. Winds will diminish late evening, and the low will drop to 56.
FORECAST: Wednesday will be sunny and moderately windy with gusts near 30 mph (no dust). Wednesday’s high: 81. Thursday will be sunny and beautiful with light winds and a high of 87. The SW wind will range from 5-15 mph. Friday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy in the afternoon. We’ll have a slight chance of isolated area t-storms (non-severe). Friday’s high: 86. Elevated humidity increases in the Borderland early on Saturday. Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of isolated showers and t-storms. Saturday’s high: 83. Sunday will be sunny and hot with a high of 90. The SW winds will pick up in the afternoon and gust near 45 mph. This will stir up a dusty haze by late afternoon. Monday will be a terrible weather day with a near brown-out from dust in the afternoon. Strong winds will gust near 60 mph. Monday’s high: 89.
