KTSM News – Woman arrested for alleged felony shoplifting at NMSU bookstore

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The New Mexico State University Police Department said it has arrested a woman in connection with a shoplifting incident at the university’s bookstore this week.

NMSU Police said it responded on Wednesday, July 2 to the area of the NMSU bookstore in reference to a shoplifting report.

The suspect, identified as Kaylee Scoughton, was immediately located in a nearby neighborhood and had allegedly taken over $500 worth of merchandise from the bookstore, university police said.

She was arrested and charged with felony shoplifting and tampering with evidence, university police said.
