EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A young woman has died after she was pulled out of the Rio Grande River early Wednesday morning, June 12, in Sunland Park, according to the Sunland Park Fire Department.

The Fire Department says just after 6:30 a.m., Border Patrol agents pulled the woman out of the Rio Grande River behind the Rio Grande power plant located on Doniphan Drive in Sunland Park.
Fire officials and Border Patrol agents performed CPR on the woman, but she didn’t survive.
The Fire Department says the woman was in her 20s.
