EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 24-year-old woman is dead after a two-vehicle rollover crash Thursday afternoon, Feb. 13, according to the Las Cruces Police Department.
Minutes before 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 13, Las Cruces Police and fire crews were dispatched to a two-vehicle rollover crash at the intersection of Griggs Avenue and Hermosa Street.
Las Cruces Police said first responders arrived to see that a car was traveling west on Griggs and an SUV was heading south on Hermosa. The SUV ran a stop sign and was struck broadside by the car.
The SUV “rotated” before rolling over at least once and the driver, a 24-year-old woman, was ejected out of the car, Las Cruces Police said.
Las Cruces Police said the woman did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Las Cruces Police said will not release the identity of the deceased until the family has been given adequate time to share the news.
The driver of the car, a 22-year-old woman, was not seriously injured, Las Cruces Police said.
The intersection of Griggs Avenue and Hermosa Street is temporarily blocked while traffic investigators gather evidence and map the scene, Las Cruces Police said.
