EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A woman in her early 20s was killed when she was thrown from a motorcycle early Monday morning, March 3, on the Spaghetti Bowl in Central El Paso, police said.
The crash happened just a little after 12:30 a.m. on Monday along the U.S. 54 southbound ramp to Interstate 10 West, police said.
Police said a man was driving a motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he struck a barrier, causing his female passenger to be thrown from the bike.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.
The woman died at the scene, police said. Police have not identified her by name, pending notification of her family.
The Special Traffic Investigations Unit continues to investigate the crash.
This is the ninth traffic fatality compared to 11 at the same time last year.
