EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Ysleta Independent School District is projecting an almost $14 million deficit for the next school year, according to a Board of Trustees meeting held Wednesday, May 15.
During the meeting, the district discussed its budget along with several future challenges the district could possibly face.
One of the challenges they could face is the declining enrollment, which could result in a reduction of state and federal funding.
In addition, one of the recommendations for lowering the deficit includes no pay raises for teachers.
