EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The YWCA El Paso del Norte Region and the Great Khalid Foundation are teaming up to host the 2nd annual Juneteenth Cultural Celebration Gala this weekend.
Event will be Saturday, June 8 at the Plaza Theatre. It kicks off with a pre-show jazz reception at 6 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the Juneteenth performance will be at 8 p.m.
“This significant event honors the rich history and vibrant heritage of Juneteenth and Black American culture. Attendees will enjoy a remarkable day filled with music, food, and community spirit as we come together to commemorate freedom and unity,” according to a news release sent out by the YWCA.

Net proceeds will “support art, music and cultural enrichment programs for early childhood and school-aged children, promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all,” according to the news release.
