And in the case of Fort Worth’s Near Southside neighborhood, that catalyst was spelled “Where House.” This past October, I was admiring the event space’s long-shuttered brick building—a facade that marries Old West jail and 1980s Chinese restaurant—with its former co-curator, painter Jay Wilkinson, who laid out what was once his version of house rules: “Make sure nobody burns. No one dies.
