“Pastor, I just need to be reminded: Is God good?” The question came from a man who was delivering terrible news: Dick Eastland, beloved director of Camp Mystic, had not survived the flood that devastated the storied Kerr County campgrounds and swallowed more than two dozen young girls, many of whom remain missing. According to a column in The Kerrville Daily Times by friend and former camper Paige Sumner, he died trying to save the young campers from the rising floodwaters.
